Earlier History
Mysia officially started up in 1999, with first gig held at Taverna 58 in Pescara. Shortly, first female vocalist Veronica, joined the band. The name of the band means: “God forbid” or, in Italian, “mai sia”. The guys argued that Mysia could look more exotic...
At that time were really focused on melting dark influences with 70ies progressive, performed some gigs at Kreis Club in Montesilvano, until 2001, when first drummer (Francesco) and the bass-player Daniele quit the band. 2001 was a quite strange year, in winter Mysia recorded first demo “Features in Oblivion” at Comet studios in Chieti, with Fabrizio as bass-player (thank you again!), but couldn't be able to perform any gig, even with a new drummer (Marco), and Daniele re-joined....until Omar (drum) Simone (vocal) and Donatella (vocal) entered in the line up, growing up to 7!!
New line up, new sound, an heavier doom sound. The subtle metal vein wich was formerly present in Features in Oblivion, reached maturity, but the dark heritage still remain in the female vocal and keyboard. Mysia performed in November a new gig in Porto d'Ascoli at the “Brunch”, followed by other concerts at Kreis Club in Montesilvano (Pe) with Priority. The next year the band loose Massimo (keyboard) and Donatella. Actually, just 3 founders survived: Alexander, Bruno and Daniele. Without keyboards, and just with the evil voice of Simone, supported by the little Omar, the choice was to definitively let flow our soul trough death metal, but trying to melt previous experiences with it. After a great gig at Coktiè Cafè with the Tuscan band Dysthymia, unfortunately Omar had to quit the band, having to find a new drummer. The surviving members tried to work with a new one, Damiano, but without been able to find a common way.


Rebirth
Mysia came back with Omar in May 2006, with the last stable line up ever, starting a series of gigs playing with: Enemy Inside, DGM, Resurrecturis, Putrid Carnage among others, and in festivals like: Sapore di Male, Extreme Noise Fest and Abruzzo Death Fest. After many other gigs all around the Pescara metalscene, mysia decided was time to put their efforts on a cd: time to talk about years of passion, love for music and a gigantic believing in their friendship and songs against time, money, work and difficulties. Mysia entered in studio in summer 2007 to record our new promo at Comet Broadcasting Studio, where we find proud partners to give birth to our projects. During that period Mysia performed on a new summer festival, on May 2008 with groups like Node, Slowmotion Apocalypse and others where the very first rough mixes of the new recordings has been distributed to friends and affectionate fans. In these days the whole work goes to an end: brand new songs and older ones melt together in articulated mysia style, ever evolving and growing everyday. Taking a look at what the band now is, and what have to tell you this time... Is a part of Mysia's story which continues through years. Recordings take almost half a year to be concluded due to work matters, lifestyle changings, research of the best groove and sound in every particular. And without the efforts of studio sessions by a lot of friends like Alex from Putrid Carnage for backing vocals, Carlo Strappa from Resurrecturis for evil guitars in "cera vuota" and techincal support, Betty Fazio for female vocals, strenghtened by the everlasting patience and passion of Luca and Gabriele at Comet Broadcasting we wouldn't have achieved that point.

Mysia is still in evolution: a new singer joined the band, adding brute force to Simone's screams. Alessandro completes the vocal section with his guttural style and his inbreed onstage fecious attitude, making mysia a death metal machine everiday stronger than ever... New dates between Marche and Abruzzo confirms Mysia as one of the underground scene killer live acts, growing everyday and getting more and more fans and making killer performances with bands like Sinister,Subhuman and more other local bands.

Mysia lifestyle!
...But Mysia isn't only music.
It's friendship, is wish to be proud part of a project that marches against time difficulties, different lifestyle, working needs and (big..) distance between members.
Is strenght to ideate new songs and arrange them "via web", is joy to be together, even if only once a month, even if often there's not enough time.
Is make a smile when the next problem or setback inexorably arrives, taking all with strenght and passion, sure that nothing is impossible.
Is drinking good wine and eat some roasted sheep (RUSTELLE RULEZZ!), is making joke one to another when practicing or onstage...where playing music is not merely execute like computer our song, searching the perfect performance. Is sharing with listeners our feeling and our soul, trying to tell what our songs MEANS.
fuck it up if there's not enough time to play 4 days a week or practice like fools.
